Default Windows 7

Well I didn't even though I pre-orderd it but it turned up in the post this morning. After installing it i'm not sure about it. it might be me but it seems to run smoother than vista (which is nice) firefox doesn't seem to agree with the OS though so i'm stuck with IE8 for now.

Anyone else grabbed a copy?

Well, I'm trying to get my laptop updated to Windows 7, Vista's always running slow on it, and I heard that it performs better, and thanks to some agreement that my college has, I can get it free (not to brag or anything). The only worry I have is that is I update it, will everything have to be wiped from this, I'm being told that everything can stay on the laptop if I update it instead of just installing it from startup

Yes it seems windows 7 runs much faster than vista AND a simple upgrade will allow you to keep all the stuff on your laptop. when upgrading if a program won't run on it, it comes up in a box. For me, Adobe wasn't compatible and my Intel Wireless Pro (wireless network card) isn't compatible (yet it works fine, connected fine with it.) everything else is fine.

Well, I'll try to get this updated as soon as I can, my friend's got the install disc, and I have a serial code, so everything seems to be fine for me

ive just removed this. been running it for several weeks

generally it runs a lot better then vista and the requirements are much lower, I was running it on my netbook with only 1 gig of memory and it ran on less a third of the memory available and used the same percentage of memory when i doubled the memory.

found it runs really quite well with exception of a few things which in my case were graphics card drivers.

Firefox ran fine though Steve as did chrome., not sure what the problem.

wouldnt pay for it mind you lol.
